WarCraft Retrospective Part III

On the eve of the release of a little game called World of WarCraft's second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, comes the third (and probably final) part of the excellent GameTrailers retrospective on the epic fantasy series by Blizzard. This one covers the rise of the MMO phenom in fairly good detail, so if you watched the other two, go ahead and round out the set by watching the above embedded video.

Weekly Challenge 3: QWOP and 99 Bricks

Alright, Tonfa won Hedgehog Launch... by ONE DAMNED DAY ARGAE*RIUYHWAQ_EUTIWQ$T... so it's time for a new Weekly Challenge! And this time, I couldn't decide, so there are TWO of them!

First off is QWOP, where you are an Olympic sprinter by the name of Qwop, trying to do your best in the 100-meter dash. Use the Q, W, O, and P keys to go for the gold!

Second is 99 Bricks, an interesting little physics-based game. You get 99 Tetris-shaped blocks to create as high a tower as you can. But be forewarned: Gravity is in effect here, so build a solid foundation, lest your tower come crashing down around your ears!

These challenges will end some time on November 14th or 15th!

High scores after the jump.

Weekly Challenge 2: Hedgehog Launch

Welp, Mageknight won last week's challenge on Body Ladder with a decent score of 6000 points or so.

Now that that week is in the past, we move on to the next weekly challenge: Hedgehog Launch! Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to use all that is available to you with your VERY limited budget to launch that li'l hedgehog into space in as few days as possible. You can pick up some money on failed launches, so don't fret if your first few launches are terrible... just keep collecting money and upgrading till you can reach for the stars.

All the controls you need to know are in the game's intro, so have at it and post your score in the comments!

This challenge will close some time on November 8th or 9th!

(High scores after the jump.)

GameTrailers WarCraft Retrospective Part II

Embedded above is part two of the WarCraft retrospective by GameTrailers. Blah blah blah, et cedera.

Weekly Challenge 1: Body Ladder

Just because it's Sunday, I'm bored, and we need more community action up in here, I'm bringing back a staple from Forums of the past: THE WEEKLY CHALLENGE.

If you're unfamiliar, a Weekly Challenge is where I post a random flash game and we all compete for high scores. Highest three scores got Gold in the old Forum Shop system. Since we obviously don't have the Forum Shop this time around, this one is mostly going to be for bragging rights, although I reserve the right to hand out benefits or prizes at a future date for winning Challenges.

This week, it's Body Ladder. Point-and-click your way to success by building a ladder to the stars from the corpses of the mindless zombie horde following you as gratingly annoying rock music plays in the background! Take a screenshot of your high score and post it as a comment on this here story, and good luck!

This challenge will end at some time Saturday, November 1st!

(Current high scores after the jump.)

GameTrailers WarCraft Retrospective Part 1: The Drums of War

Embedded above is part 1 of GameTrailers's retrospective look at the WarCraft series. It's worth a look if you're a fan of the series (like me), or just want to learn more about the games. This one starts off with the backstory behind WarCraft: Orcs and Humans before winding its way through WarCraft II: Tides of Darkness (and its expansion Beyond the Dark Portal) and the ill-fated adventure game, WarCraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans.

Grinn Am Say Whoops: Ghostlive Episode 2 Post-Production Delay

So me, Vprisoner, and Mageknight recorded about an hour of rambling on gaming news, and it turned out... okay.

Why isn't it officially released yet?

Because my dumb ass decided to go to a friend's to play Rock Band 2 instead of making sure the raw file was good to go.

I'll check it tonight after I get off work and push it out as soon as possible afterwards. See you tonight!
